What can we possibly offer God as a gift?
The wise men brought physical gifts for Christ with profound symbolism:
Gold: A gift for a King, acknowledging His sovereignty.
Frankincense: Used in temple worship, a gift for a Priest or God, acknowledging His divinity.
Myrrh: An embalming ointment, a gift for one who would die, foreshadowing His atoning sacrifice.
This Christmas, what gift can we possibly offer the Savior of the world? Perhaps the only gift that is truly in our power to give-- a broken heart, a contrite spirit, and our willingness to follow Him.
