Walk With Him
Walk With Him
Over 25 years ago I served as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Southern California. One evening when I was returning home from the day's work, the Spirit told me to stop. I pulled over on my bike, and the missionary who was serving with me asked why I had stopped. I replied, “I don’t know.” We waited for about 20 seconds and then the Spirit said, “You can go now”. I told my missionary friend, “What are you waiting for? Let's go.” He shook his head, as though he was getting used to me messing with him.
A few streets later just as we were approaching the intersection, a large truck ran a red light and smashed into the cars exactly where we would have been had we not been told to stop. The Lord had spared our lives that night. There were many more times as a missionary when I knew He was walking with us.
I created “Walk With Him” for my son, who is serving a mission in the Philippines. Before he left I had no idea how difficult it would be to send a child on a mission. However, I trust that the Lord walks with Him daily through typhoons and a bout with Dengue Fever
